We are Sjaak and Wendy Nijland.
Together with our 3 children and 8 cats we live in the little town of Monnickendam.
The appearance of a big wild cat, with the opposite loving, affectionate, gentle
character, made us fall in love with the Norwegian Forest Cat breed.
This meant that on the 9th July 2007 "Cattery 9 Levens(9 Lives)" became a fact.
"Cattery 9 Levens" is young that is to say that our cats are young and we do not have any
plans for our kittens for the time being.
Over the next two years we will be showing our Norwegian Forest Cats, will make new
contacts and maintaining contacts with other "Catteries".
Our Goal:
Our goal is to breed a type of "Norwegian" wich, in our eyes meets the requirements
of Norwegian Forest Cats, by crosing good pure lines with each other so that the
Norwegian Forest Cat stands close to its ancestors.
Goal:
- To keep the breed line pure so the pets stay healthy.
- Making choices within the breed line to keep the physical characteristics or
improving them.
- To breed a type of Norwegian Forest Cat that appeal to us.
- To socialise the Norwegian Forest Cat to preserve its beautiful character.
To socialise wil say:
We believe in growing our cats and kittens in a domestic environment.
Our first cathouse is attached to our house so our Norwegians can walk in and out of
the house into the cathouse freely.
The second cathouse is a possibility when there is talk of breeding.
Our aim is to keep the cats inside.
Take a look at our site and get to know our Norwegians.
